This odd shaped hexagonal bell was sitting in a junk store waiting for me.. By design it has no ‘donger’so it has to be played with a mallet, but despite its size and odd shape, its sound reminded me of a classic dinner bell, or an old-school school bell. So I recorded some single hits with a few mallets & then performed some articulations as per ‘schools out!’ or ‘dinners ready!
