Borrowed from a friend I suspended this hefty resonant pipe on bungy cords, so it could ring like a bell!

While doing some recording recently on a farm in the Wairarapa, discussion of future sessions included this hefty pipe which was designed for a rather nefarious purpose (more to come on that subject!) but my ears pricked up at mention of it ‘ringing like a bell!’ So I dragged it back to my studio, suspended it on bungee cords and sure enough, the sustain is gorgeous… and pitched down it does sound a bit like Big Ben chiming!
