Preview is real speed, then half speed, then limited

Last time we had a major Nor’West gale wind, I noticed it shaking the old shipping crate that had been sitting outside since I recorded it for FX026 TRUNK METAL CRATE. The weather forecast predicted even stronger winds to come, so I decided to rig my mics inside the metal trunk with the recorder and leave it recording overnight, until the battery ran out.

The next morning I went to retrieve it, and at some stage the wind was so strong it had blown the concrete blocks I’d wedged against the door… So for the last two hours of the four hour recording, big gusts had slammed the door shut & then open again… I trawled through all of the recordings and split out the impacts, sorted them and this MiniFX library is the result! Recorded 32bit 192kHz using Sennheiser MKH8040 x2, MKH8020 x2 and MKH8050, this new library is now released 24bit 192kHz with full UCS metadata, and includes a mixed version of all mics combined with dynamics limited somewhat for impact.
